Is either amazon kindle for mac or kindle for pc accessible?

Hey.
I was just wondering if anyone has used kindle for mac or kindle for pc from amazon?
There's this book I'd like to buy, but I don't want to buy it unless I'm sure I can read it.
If either of them were accessible, which version have you found most accessible? The pc version or the mac version?
